Homes

Houses across The Woodlands, Spring, Conroe and Magnolia — the same instruments, the same written prices and the same care about finishes as a commercial job.

Ledger

The calls

What you notice

  • It is not coolingOn a July afternoon in this county, which is when everybody else is ringing too.
  • It is cool but feels dampThe house reads the right number and still feels wrong.
  • Water at the air handlerOr worse, a mark appearing on a ceiling below it.
  • One room never keeps upUsually the furthest, usually with the door closed.
  • The bill climbedWith nothing obviously different about the house.

What it usually is

  • A part, and a causeCapacitor, contactor, a tripped safety or a float switch. We fit the part and say what tripped it.
  • Run timeShort cycles cool without drying. It is a sizing and airflow question rather than a refrigerant one.
  • CondensateA blocked line, an unprimed trap or a pan past its life. Cheap now, expensive after the ceiling.
  • Duct and returnMeasured at the register first. A closed door with no return path starves a room.
  • Coil, duct leakage or run timeAll three measurable, none of them needing a new system to find.
Safety

Two calls that go elsewhere first

  • A carbon monoxide alarm soundingEverybody out of the house, then call 911 or the gas utility from outside. Not us first, and do not go back in to open windows.
  • A smell of gasThe same. Leave the appliance alone, get out, and ring from outside.

Once it has been made safe we will come and find out what caused it.

Houses are interiors too

Shoe covers, floor protection, and the attic hatch closed

Most of the work in a house here happens in an attic reached through a bedroom or a hallway closet, which means everything we carry goes past somebody's things and everything we disturb falls into somebody's house.

The same containment we use in a clinic goes into a house: protection from the door to the hatch, dust extraction at the tool, and the space left as we found it. It is not a premium service, it is how the work should be done.
